Lodge:
Elevated over the Tshwene Valley and secluded in the enviable, malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, Wooded Peaks offers a true African experience. Wooded Peaks provides luxury and exclusivity in the stylishly decorated Five star lodge, situated an easy, under 3 hour drive from Johannesburg.

Your adventure begins the moment you cross the teak suspended bridge, leading you into our main lodge area. Our friendly and competent staff will be there to welcome you with a refreshing cocktail and show you around this exquisite lodge, which will be your home in the bushveld.

The main lodge area consists of a well-stocked bar, comfortable and cozy lounge and dining area with central fireplace, well-appointed library and conference room all leading onto the elevated patio where you can enjoy majestic views and unforgettable African sunsets.

Accommodation:
Each of the five delightfully styled log cabin style chalets provide accommodation for 2 guests, in 5 star luxury.

The en-suite bathroom provides magical bush views from the corner bath and inside shower. Also on offer are two hand crafted basins and a separate toilet, lovely soft towels and a range of bathroom amenities rounds off the bathroom.

The outdoor shower is a must - allow your senses to awaken whilst showering in the breeze, an arm stretch from the bush. Enjoy a peaceful night's sleep in crisp, quality linen, in your choice of either a queen bed or two singles. Overhead fans and ceramic fireplaces are provided for your comfort.

Dining:
Our kitchen is also situated in the main lodge area. This modern kitchen is a focal point and we enjoy guests viewing the chef at work and discussing their favorite dishes with him.

Meal times are always a special occasion at Wooded Peaks and we have several settings for you to enjoy your meal at. Our boma provides the ideal African dining experience under a canopy of stars, or our covered patio with endless views of the valley whilst enjoying the fascinating sounds of the wild at night, or our elegantly set dining area alongside the central fireplace.

Follow the elevated teak walkways down to our wine cellar and select a bottle of South African wine to accompany your meal. Our ranger is your host at the table and will share his knowledge and experiences of the bush with you, whilst ensuring that you are receiving 5 star service.

We offer breakfast/brunch after the morning drive, high tea in the afternoon and a sumptous four course dinner at night. All meals are freshly prepared on the day. Please advise any special dietary requirements before arrival.

Game activities:
Our ranger conducts two game drives each day, an early morning and late afternoon drive. Every game drive is a unique experience as you explore the reserve and its wealth of fauna and flora.

You are never sure of what to expect around each bend in the road on this Big 5 reserve which offers an array of wildlife, bird species and reptiles. A bush walk can be arranged to view the historically significant bushman paintings.

Our game drives and walks are conducted by accredited rangers. We provide binoculars, blankets and warm ponchos on all drives. Enjoy an early morning stop for tea/coffee in the bush to watch the sunrise and enjoy sundowners on the afternoon drive whilst watching an African bush sunset. The return drive to the lodge is a short night drive with the aid of spotlights.

Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is a huge scenic wilderness of 40 000ha. The Reserve is home to the Big 5, wild dog, cheetah, a variety of antelope, brown hyena, jackal, zebra, giraffe and over 250 different bird species.

Facilities:
For added enjoyment we have a fully equipped gym for the fitness fanatics and a games room which includes a pool table, darts and a variety of board games. Keep a watchful eye on the watering hole which is visited by a host of animals daily or relax around our rim flow pool surrounded by the magnificent Tshwene Valley.

We can arrange small intimate weddings and will ensure that it is an experience of a life time. Your honeymoon, anniversary or birthday will be extra special if celebrated at Wooded Peaks.
