On a vast private concession of almost 350 000 hectares, with a variety of eco-systems supporting a wide range of wildlife, MANKWE BUSH LODGE lies south of Chobe and east of Moremi National Parks.

With a deep love of the "bush" the experienced and highly knowledgeable guides (and even the chef!) not only love to spoil their guests, but love to share the wonders of the wild with them.

MANKWE BUSH LODGE
Amongst shady Mopane and Camelthorn trees, Mankwe Bush Lodge has 7 extremely comfortable custom-built canvas tents on wooden decks with en suite facilities and viewing deck. All built on wooden decks, there is a most attractive bar/lounge, camp- fire area, a swimming pool and huge dining tent.

MANKWE BUSH LODGE offers full board with exciting game actitivites, and has 2 tents for self-catering situated away from the lodge.

MANKWE (meaning leopard) lies within a wilderness conservation area, where waterholes attract a variety of animals that cross it, moving freely between Chobe and Moremi. Situated in a summer migration area, the animal population depends on the time of year and availability of natural waterholes.

MOBILE SAFARIS
With set departures and tailor-made for small groups, there are a variety of safaris to choose from covering the highlights of Botswana, taking from 3 days/2 nights to 11 days/10 nights. Mobile camp: Consists of 3m x 3m dome tents, proper beds with bedding and towels, bucket shower with hot water and a field toilet. There is no electrical supply, paraffin lamps and lanterns are used for lighting.

MBOMA BOAT STATION
We have two 9-seater motorboats for hire. The boats have padded bench seats, shade roofs for the sun and are hired out with drivers and fuel included. The drivers are all professional guides.

THE MOKORO is the traditional vessel of the Okavango Delta: a dugout canoe. In the southeast of the Delta, where the waterways are shallow, they are poled by an individual standing in the stern. In deep waters they are paddled. All mokoro are made from fibreglass as part of a conservation effort to preserve the trees.

No visit is complete without a ride in a mokoro. Seating is either a blanket on the base of the canoe or a moulded chair and each mokoro carries a maximum of 2 passengers and poler.

Poled silently, a mokoro glides gently through the waterways, parting dense reed beds with perfect stealth so that animals and birds are caught totally unaware. You become a part of the Delta.

Eight mokoro are available, each seating two passengers. Our polers are all professional guides who know the lagoons and channels of the delta.
