ACCOMMODATION

Kwa Mbili offers guests a choice of accommodation with electricity and fans in all units.
The thatched chalets are decorated in colourful African style. Each chalet has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Each chalet has a patio where guests can sit and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The safari tents are furnished with either double or single beds. Each safari tent has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
The safari tents have thatched roofs over them to protect them from too much sun as well as shelter the bathroom areas from rain. The tents also have sheltered patio areas.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

We endeavour to meet specific needs - our programme is therefore quite flexible.
Even though Kwa-Mbili is part of the "Big 5" Thornybush Nature Reserve which offers abundant game and bird species, our philosophy is that a safari experience should be holistic. The bush offers much more than the well-known animal species! We try to impart a little knowledge and understanding of the complex interactions within the bush environment to our guests.
We want our guests to leave with not only good memories of the bush, but with an appreciation for the diversity of nature.

Typically… Late afternoon, depart on a game drive, enjoy sundowners in the bush before continuing on an exciting night game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening under African skies around the camp-fire. The next morning, after an early wake-up call, depart on the early morning safari. Coffee/tea and traditional rusks are served in the bush and then continue the morning safari on foot or by vehicle.

The focus is on the small things in the bush - learning to track animals, how termites live, what the various trees and plants are used for, etc. Discovering the small universe on foot will truly teach you to look at nature in a different way. After the exhilarating walk, a full English breakfast is served in the lapa. Please enquire about the extended drive.
A light lunch is served around 13:30. The day can be spent at leisure: Read and relax around the filtered pool or spot birds and animals from the hide. Alternatively, numerous attractions in the area can be visited.
