luxury, comfort and hospitality of our two unique lodges. CLEARWATER
LODGES, a Relais & Chateaux rated private game lodge, managed
in association with Morgenhof Wine Estate, is situated in the
Welgevonden Game Reserve, which nestles in the picturesque and
well known Waterberg Mountains in the Limpopo Province, approximately
2½ hours from Johannesburg International Airport, in
a malaria free area.
Game
Experience the bush from the state of the art open Landrover
with a well qualified ranger who will endeavour to show you
the BIG FIVE: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo in
their natural surroundings. Apart from the big five, Welgevonden
includes kudu, giraffe, zebra, warthog and the rare roan antelope
amongst others. For the bird lovers there are approximately
300 species that occur in this diverse and magnificent 33 000
hectares of bushveld.
Activities
and Relaxation
Enjoy a crisp morning game drive with the beauty of the rising
African sun as well as an evening drive, where the mysterious
nightlife can be viewed by spotlight. For the more adventurous,
enjoy a guided walk during which the smaller members of the
bush family add an interesting and holistic bush experience.
Cool down and relax from the hot African sun and enjoy your
favourite cocktail at our pool or on your own private deck while
enjoying the sights and sounds of the tranquil African bush.
Accommodation
Clearwater offers two unique and charming lodges. Each lodge
consists of three exquisite private chalets and one double unit,
accommodating a maximum of ten guests.
Tshetshepi Lodge is situated in the heart of the bush along
the slow meandering Taaibos River, where the Chachma baboons
descend the overhanging cliffs to drink from its cool, clear
waters.
Alternatively,
experience Kudu Lodge with its open Savannah overlooking a waterhole.
Lie in luxury and watch page after page "out of Africa"
pass in front of your eyes or sit back on the deck and absorb
the vastness of Africa.
Cuisine
Enjoy the choice of fine Morgenhof Estate Wines while savouring
our exquisitely prepared local and French cuisine.
Clearwater Lodges incorporate two dinner venues. From the beautiful,
warm and friendly atmosphere of the main lodge dining room,
to the rustic Boma, where the expansive beauty of the African
night sky can be viewed while sitting around the fire and listening
to the cricket concerto.
Finish off the perfect day by returning to your chalet and be
serenaded to sleep by the sounds of Africa.
